The City of Saint Paul is applying for funding through the Alaska DOT&PF Multi-Use Trails Program. Applications are due October 30, 2026. The Alaska Recreational Trails Program is the possible funding agency for this proposed project https://dot.alaska.gov/atlas/multi-use-trails/
The proposed project will improve community trails above the store, including replacing wooden staircases and improving gravel approaches that connect to the community.
Improvements are also planned for Trail B, locally known as the Sledding Hill, including grading and gravel surfacing to improve safety and access for community members.
