Aleutian Airways’ Saab 2000 successfully made its maiden flight into Saint Paul Island on April 20, 2026. Joyful for the return to regularly scheduled, affordable, and larger capacity flights, community members turned out to welcome the plane and Saint Paul schoolchildren created a welcome sign. The community is extremely thankful for the support provided over the course of several months during the Essential Air Service process by the Department of Transportation, in particular Secretary Duffy and members of his department including Venk Pavulai, as well as the Alaska congressional offices.
