Mechanic

The City is accepting application for a Mechanic with the Public Works Department – Motor Pool Division. This position identifies and diagnoses defects of City heavy equipment and vehicles and performs necessary repairs, including preventive maintenance.

This position works under the direct supervision of the Public Works Director or designee and may take functional direction from the Public Works Administrative Assistant. This is considered an entry level to intermediate position where work is performed according to established procedures with little variance from those procedures required.

This position involves extensive contact with department employees, other departments, the public, and external businesses, agencies, and organizations.

Police Sergeant

The Police Sergeant serves as an all-hazards emergency first responder. The Police Sergeant works in coordination with Village Public Safety Officers and is involved in field patrol, investigations, crime prevention, community relations, emergency medical services, search and rescue, and related services and activities; assumes responsibility for assigned special programs, projects or activities; coordinates activities with other agencies; and performs a variety of administrative and technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

The Police Sergeant works under the direct supervision of the City Manager. This is considered a mid-level position where work is performed according to established policies, procedures, and/or protocols.

The position involves frequent contact with Village Public Safety Officers, Alaska State Troopers, City employees and the general public. This position must present a professional look and wear Department issued uniform.

Request For Proposals For Saint Paul Small Boat Harbor Utilities Expansion Project For Economic Development Administration Grant 07-79-07871

December 8, 2025   The  City  of  Saint  Paul  will  receive  sealed  bids or all work required for the Small Boat  Harbor Utilities Expansion project including demolition of the existing lift station and construction of a new lift station. Bids shall be on a stipulated lump sum basis.

To be considered, proposals must be received via email no later than January 16, 2026 no later than 2:00 pm Alaska Standard Time.
