Saint Paul Island Entities Send Urgent Request to the US Secretary of Transportation

Today, the City of Saint Paul, Aleut Community of St. Paul Island Tribal Government, Tanadgusix Corporation, and Central Bering Sea Fishermen’s Association sent a joint letter to the US Secretary of Transportation, Governor Dunleavy, the Alaska Congressional Delegation, FAA, and others urgently requesting that emergency authorities address the complete loss of scheduled commercial air service to the Saint Paul Island community. Without swift federal intervention, Saint Paul Island faces not only logistical isolation but also worsening public health risks, economic hardship, and disruption of subsistence and cultural life.
