The City’s Department of Public Safety has two new police officers, Officer Charles Dobbs and Officer Shane Auginaush.

The City’s Department of Public Safety has two new police officers.

Officer Charles Dobbs arrived in St. Paul Island September 2018 for an opportunity to enter law enforcement and to experience Alaska. Charles grew up in Eugene, Oregon. Charles was previously in corrections for three years and served our country in the Army for 6 years and did three tours of duty. Charles has been married since 2007 to his wife Kimberly, they have a 10-year-old daughter named Lenaya. His family will be joining him on St. Paul Island in June this year. Charles will attend the law enforcement academy later this year.

Officer Shane Auginaush arrived in St. Paul Island in January 2019. Shane grew up on the White Earth Indian Reservation in Minnesota. Shane came to work for the department for the experience. Shane has been in law enforcement for 18 years. Shane is married to his wife Jo Lynn, they have two boys, Wayatt and Jacob. His family will be joining him on St. Paul Island this June.

Officers Dobbs and Auginaush are friendly and community orientated. Please give a warm welcome when you see them around town.
